At Lyric Lounge, we are commited to empowering the voices of our community. We are excited to announce a recorded program where we showcase musicians and poets. The 30 minute segment will showcase your personal story and talent. If you have any questions, contact programdirector@lyriclounge.studio

  • We encourage all NEIU students who are musicians and poets to participate. If you’re interested, fill out this form!

  • You must be:

    • A musician and/or poet

    • A current NEIU student

    • Comfortable with being on camera

  • These are the components:

    • 15-20 minute for the pre-show interview

    • 10-15 minutes for the musician's performance

    • 5-8 minutes for the poet

  • Antonio Turner, better known as Music Man AJ, is a dynamic force in the music industry, hailing from the Southside of Chicago, IL.  Antonio's journey in music began at the age of 16, and over the past decade, he has carved out a name for himself as a key player in the Chicago music scene and beyond. Starting as an intern, Antonio gained invaluable experience working with industry giants like Record label, Def Jam Records, Konvict Music, and Kanye West's GOOD Music label. These opportunities opened doors for him to collaborate with an impressive roster of artists, including Akon, Verse Simmonds, Cyhi The Prynce, Ab-Soul, The Pharcyde, Naughty By Nature, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and More. His passion for discovering new talent has made him a sought-after music A&R, with a keen eye for scouting artists from all corners of the globe. In addition to his work as an A&R, Antonio has successfully managed various artists from Chicago and LA, helping them navigate the complex world of being an artist and the music industry. His expertise extends beyond artist management; he is also a skilled marketer and PR professional, offering social media promotions, marketing strategies, and public relations services to a diverse clientele, including dance groups, musical artists, restaurants, and even political campaigns.

    Antonio's entrepreneurial spirit led him to be a part of The WZRD 88.3 FM Radio station family as promotions and social media content and also created his own music platform called MusicToMyEarss Blog, which is an international music blog where he serves as a music journalist and Spotify curator. This platform provides emerging artists with a unique space to showcase their work and reach new audiences. He also co-founded BuzzMedia, a multimedia hub that offers photography and videography services for festivals, events, and concerts, further solidifying his presence in the industry. As if that weren't enough, AJ has embraced the digital age as a TikTok influencer and YouTuber, where he shares his insights on music discoveries, and industry knowledge with a growing audience and supporters from all around the world. His ability to adapt and thrive in various aspects of the music industry has earned him a reputation as a jack of all trades, making him a true renaissance man in today's fast-paced, ever-evolving music landscape.
